Almost a year ago, I met Caiti on Bid Day, and little did I know at the time she would quickly become one of the most important people in my life. On Bid Day we were randomly paired together, and that’s when I knew not only were you going to be my Little, but my best friend and partner in crime. I never thought I would be so excited to add to our little family as much as I was.
Caiti, you truly made my junior year one to remember! Your G-Big and I love you so much and we were ecstatic to add you to our family. I never thought I could become so close to someone so fast, but with you it was just so easy. I hope you know in a year when I graduate you can still come to me for any advice or anything you need. And of course I hope you know I will still be coming to you about my boy problems and adult problems as well.  You have taught me so much about myself and what it truly means to be a mentor to someone. You have made me so proud as I watched you find your place in Tri Delta.
Thank you for being there for me during my low points this past year. You truly represent what it means to be a unconditional friend, through thick and thin. You help me laugh when I want to cry, and you encourage me to always try my hardest. Thank you for all our movie nights with ice cream, our adventurous nights, and of course our endless sleepovers in the Delta Dome this past year. You’re such a blessing in my life, and in everyone you touch. You shine so bright little one, and you show people what true kindness and sisterhood really mean. No matter how many miles we will be from each other in a year or where we will be in our crazy lives remember, “here’s to you, here’s to me, big and little we’ll always be”.

Dear PC 15,

While I cannot even begin to explain the impact you have made on my life in this short letter, I’m going to try my very best. When I joined Tri Delta alongside each of you almost three years ago, I had no idea what would come of my time here. I fumbled through my three days of recruitment hoping to find these life-long sisters that everyone had been talking about. To be honest, I didn’t really believe it was possible. Three years later, I can’t imagine the road my life would have taken had I not joined Tri Delta and met all of you. I have gained everything and more from this chapter, and it is because of each and every one of you. Each of you are incredibly unique, powerful, and beautiful on the inside and out. We’ve shared our best moments together, from our initiation, to our first big/little reveal, to our new member work week. We also shared our worst, like the loss of our pledge class sister, Geena, following the end of our freshman year. We grew closer, stronger, and more resilient than ever. This was when I truly saw the meaning of sisterhood, because I know we could not have made it through that devasting time without each other.

All of you have shown exactly what it means to be a Tri Delta woman and have inspired many others to do so as well. You brought me out of my shell and made in confident in who I am. You supported and loved me through the tough times. You have all shown me what it means to be “brave, bold, and kind alike to all”. We began this journey as young, anxious, and eager eighteen-year-olds ready to conquer our college years. Now, we are confident women with our college years almost behind us, and our whole future ahead of us. As we begin our senior year of “lasts”, don’t forget to look back on our “firsts”. While it may seem like our time here is soon coming to an end, I know it is only the beginning for us.

After joining Tri Delta my freshman year, I fell in love more and more with my sisters every day. When I didn’t think my experience could get any better I was given the opportunity to live in the Delta Dome spring semester of my sophomore year. Not only did I move in the house, but I was granted the room that was right next to my beloved big. When people find out that we live in one house with a generous number of girls, their first thought is “wow that’s crazy”. But I can honestly say that it was the best semester out of the 2 years I had been at SFA. Every day I was continuously surrounded by such strong and empowering women. And as the weeks went on, I felt myself grow not only as a woman, but as a student. There was always someone home to study with, there was always someone there to get a midnight snack with, and there was always someone there to watch your favorite movie in the chapter room with. At this time in our lives, things can often get hard, and just when I felt like my world was crashing, I reminded myself that I had my sisters along my side. I easily could go right next door to just say hi and my day would instantly get better. Whether you want to go out and have a good time or stay home and binge watch Netflix, you will never be alone. I am so unbelievably grateful to have experienced living in the delta dome and I can't wait for this upcoming year to do it again. There are so many cherishing memories I would love to share, but this blog would be 10 pages long. I will say that one of the best advantages of living in the house is being able to share each other's clothes and getting ready together. Personally, I am very intrigued with fashion and makeup. When it is time to get dolled up, someone is usually playing music while we all show off our outfits and boost our sisters up. For me it was the little things that mattered. Just after one semester of living in the house I will never be the same. I am stronger, wiser, and more confident. It was so nice to know I was never alone, we truly are one big family. The Delta Dome is my home.

As the old saying goes, “Home is Where the Heart is.” According to Dictionary.com, your home will always be the place for which you feel the deepest affection, no matter where you are. This is what I found in Tri Delta.
Let’s rewind to the summer before my freshman year. It is very common for ladies to say that they are skeptical about going through recruitment and this is exactly how I felt.  When I moved away from home, I had pretty much made up my mind that I was not going to go through recruitment. I had the mentality that I could make friends without being in a sorority. I was not interested in trying to become someone I was not. Then, I met my first roommate two weeks before school started, which also happened to be when the sororities were preparing for recruitment. She was a sophomore and was already in a sorority. It was not long before she convinced me that I needed to rush, but it was almost too late. I had to call the Panhellenic president and beg to register because it was already after the deadline. Fortunately, she allowed me to participate, so I went through the recruitment process. After a long, stressful 3 days, I had made up my mind. When I opened my bid card, I was excited to see that Tri Delta was my new home.
At first, I was a little nervous about joining the chapter because I did not know anyone yet. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and treated me like family right off the bat. Shortly after the semester began, I started to get to know everyone. I grew closer and closer to my sisters, especially the girls in my pledge class. Before I knew it, I was spending late nights at the Delta Dome studying with friends or watching the Victoria's Secret fashion show in the chapter room while eating popcorn. We may have even found ourselves hosting our own, in-house, fashion show down the upstairs hallway. I did not live at the house, but I knew that anytime I wanted to hang out or needed someone to talk to, I could walk through those royal blue doors and someone would be there for me. I also knew if I ever needed help on an assignment, there was at least one person in the chapter that had taken my class before and could help me with it.
All in all, I fell in love with Tri Delta and my new sisters. It was hard to be away from my family at first, but I quickly found a new and welcoming support system within Tri Delta. I truly found my home away from home at 424 North Steen Drive.
