First off, congrats on being a lumberjack! Secondly, congrats on making the decision to go Greek - you're on the right path. I fell in love with Greek life and Tri Delta by keeping these 10 things in mind:

1. There's more to it than the cute pictures you're seeing from all the sororities via social media.
Looks can be deceiving, wait until you meet the girls at all the houses before you get an idea of what house you want - pictures are cute, but personalities are cuter.

2. If you're friends with someone who is already in a sorority at SFA, I promise it's okay if you don't join the same one as them.
Make college your own and be your own person. Just because it was the right house for someone else, doesn't mean it is the right house for you. Sometimes, though, you do end up falling in love with the same house as your friend!

3. ...same goes for your roommate - you don't have to be in the same sorority as she is!
Don't let other's opinions sway yours, this decision should be a personal one... otherwise, you could end up feeling like you're in the wrong place. It could actually be beneficial being in a different sorority than your roommate, because you're already spending so much time together.

4. EVERY sorority has a "reputation." It's almost always false.
It's just like any other rumor you've ever heard - it's either made up by a boy who got dumped or a girl who got mad... or something along those ugly lines.

5. Keep an open mind.
This is important. At the end of each day of rush, carefully go over each house and way out the pros and cons. Like I said before; DISREGARD other's opinions to avoid any regrets.

6. If you're a legacy, still keep an open mind to all the other sororities on the row - your mom or grandmother or biological sister won't shun you.
Or they will, I don't know your family... *wide eyed emoji*

7. The website "Greek Rank" is not something to go off of.
Just don't even look at it. Nothing on there is accurate about any sorority on the row.

8. Remember that every sorority is putting their best foot forward during recruitment.
After all the decorations come down, the make up comes off and the smiles aren't always flashed your way, ask yourself if you're still making the right choice for you.

9. Don't get caught up in the materialistic things.
Gifts and bid day themes are always cool, but long lasting friendships are cooler. That's what it's all about, anyway.

10. And when in doubt, rush Tri Delta. Just kidding. But seriously.

I hope you find your lifelong friends like Tri Delta has given me.
